This trade only event will comprise an exhibition and conference, with a series of new product launches and an impressive line-up of speakers.
Amongst the new technologies being showcased is ID Warehouse’s MXI Biometric Portable Security Device, a USB memory stick that uses fingerprint data to safeguard intellectual property. Used by City of London Police, the biometric USB provides a practical and accessible solution to information theft.
CCTV, IT solutions, access control, IP technologies and theft deterrents will also be demonstrated.
“The products and technologies being created to combat security threats professional, personal and otherwise, are becoming more sophisticated and accessible by everyday Australians,” said Peter Higgins, exhibition manager, Security 2008.
The ASIAL Conference program features local and international security figureheads who will share their expertise on strategies, legislation, threats and ethics. Confirmed speakers include Nick Kaldas, Deputy Commissions, NSW Police; Alastair Milroy, CEO, Australian Crime Commission; Rick Sarre, Professor of Law and Criminal Justice, School of Commerce, University of South Australia; Ralph Peters, Member of Senator John McCain’s Foreign Policy Security Advisory Team for 2008 Presidential Campaign; and Paul Foreman, UK Government Security Adviser.
