Soldering and rework systems increase production

OK International (distributed in Australia OKAY Electronic Solutions) has launched the Metcal MX-5000 Series Soldering and Rework System. The systems use patented SmartHeat Technology coupled with 80 watts of power to enable instantaneous response to load conditions with high levels of control. The microprocessor-controlled MX-5000 Series also incorporates a built-in digital power indication display, providing users with continuous feedback for a repeatable soldering process.

The MX-5000 series is comprised of different system configurations determined by the hand-piece or hand-pieces to be used. The hand-piece choices include: ground-breaking Metcal Advanced soldering and rework hand-piece, the new Metcal UltraFine Soldering Hand-piece for micro-soldering applications, the Metcal MX-PTZ Precision Tweezers Hand-piece for SMD rework, and the MX-DS1 Through-hole Desoldering Hand-piece.
The MX-5000 series also adds the new Metcal TipSaver workstand with auto-sleep function. The system incorporates a programmable “PowerSave” mode that shuts off power to the hand-piece after a user-selected time is exceeded, saving energy and improving tip life.
