S-Band VCO features ultra low phase noise

Z-Communications has announced a new RoHS compliant VCO (Voltage-Controlled Oscillator) model CRO2905A-LF in S-band.

It operates at 2905 MHz (single frequency) with a tuning voltage range of 0.5-4.5 Vdc. This VCO features a typical phase noise of -114 dBc/Hz @ 10KHz offset and a typical tuning sensitivity of 13 MHz/V.

The CRO2905A-LF is designed to deliver a typical output power of 6.5 dBm at 5V DC supply while drawing 19 mA (typical) over the temperature range of -40º to 85ºC. This VCO features typical second harmonic suppression of -20 dBc and comes in Z-Comm’s industry standard MINI package measuring 0.50 in. x 0.50 in. x 0.22 in.

It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements. The CRO2905A-LF is also ideal for automated surface mount assembly and reflow.

CRO2905A-LF is well suited for satellite communications applications that require ultra low phase noise performance.
