Covering 10 MHz to 40 GHz in bands, the instrument is equipped with broadband attenuators enabling output levels that to be varied over 127 dB. Taking advantage of the latest developments in MMIC design, solid state components are employed wherever possible to enhance the instrument’s lifetime and reliability. The instrument supplies white Gaussian Noise and operates both locally and remotely via GPIB and Ethernet.
Applications for the NW-ATE include system and component wireless testing, jitter generation, signal simulation, channel impairment and link emulation, HDTV, SATCOM, SINAD and CATV testing, modem and receiver characterisation as well as use as a general purpose test source and as an economical source for bit error rate testing.
Options include a combiner to allow the user to inject a signal to be added to the noise, various connectors and noise attenuators. Other output levels and frequency ranges are also available.
