Rittal eases data centre monitoring

Rittal has launched Basic CMC, an entry-level system for monitoring IT infrastructure.

It features a compact, easy to use plug and play system combining processing unit and I/O unit in a single enclosure. Up to four sensors can be connected enabling IT managers to choose between 17 different sensors or actuator types. These sensors can be used to monitor ambient data such as temperature, humidity or smoke as well as technical parameters and access to the IT rack.

It features a network interface and an intuitive web user interface. The data registered by the sensors is forwarded via network and SNMP to the administrator console, which triggers an alarm if preset thresholds are exceeded. This means the entire IT infrastructure can be monitored from a central location with a minimum of effort. Basic CMC can installed using a plug and play system, negating the need for complicated programming and wiring.
