Power supplies

Hernan Alcerreca

The new California Instruments Compact iX and i series AC and DC power supplies are comprehensive test systems suitable for ATE and avionics applications including measurement and harmonic analysis (iX series).

Single- (750 VA) and three-phase (750 VA per phase) as well as parallel configurations (2250 VA) can be configured to suit a variety of applications. Output modes include AC, DC, AC + DC making the power supplies suitable for transient analyses.

Maximum output voltage is 300 V AC and Max DC voltage is 400 V DC. Frequency can be set between 16.0 and 1000 Hz. Arbitrary waveforms and harmonic wave forms can be created (iX series) to permit the effect of voltage distortion on test loads.

Harmonic current can be analysed to the 40th order. Software tools incorporating logging functions, creation of reports and data analysis as well as arbitrary waveform creation are available. Standard and remote control interfaces, utilising SCPI command protocol, facilitate functions including creation, running and saving of transient, generation of harmonic functions, etc.
