Outdoor enclosure

Hernan Alcerreca

Rittal has released CS New Basic, an aluminium outdoor enclosure optimised for telecommunications and industrial applications.

The CS New Basic outdoor enclosure meets the demands of almost all branches of the telematics sector, from power and environmental engineering to telecommunications and the water industry.

The single-walled aluminium enclosure has an IP 55 protection rating offering a high level of EMC protection and simple cable entry, particularly when compared with plastic enclosures.

In addition, the corrosion protection offered by the aluminium base makes the CS New Basic ideal for applications with minimal installed heat loss or passive interior installation. The extensive range of system accessories also allows organisations to configure the CS New Basic for their own individual industrial and telecommunications applications.

The CS New Basic has a slim, functional design. The removable rain canopy, made from a single sheet of edged steel plate, has all round ventilation louvers . Eyebolts on the interior of the canopy allow the completely assembled unit to be lifted by crane. The open base frame may be covered with gland plates. An optional concrete plinth can be used for cable entry and ensuring the stability of the enclosure.

The enclosure interior is protected from unauthorised access by two-point locking via a swing lever handle and a lock cylinder.

The CS New Basic is available in a single-door version that 600 or 800 mm wide or as a 1200mm wide double-door version . Heights of 800 or 1200mm and depths of 400 or 500 mm are available.
