These switches route multiple sources—such as navigation, camera, satellite TV, and DVD signals—to multiple displays, thus reducing the number of point-to-point links. They provide programmable output pre emphasis to improve signal integrity at the load and accommodate longer cables than those that can typically be driven by similar switches.
Specially designed for transmitting high-speed digital video in automotive applications, these devices are also well suited for a wide range of digital video distribution and routing applications. The MAX9132 / MAX9134/ MAX9135 support data rates up to 840Mbps at each port. The MAX9132 features three input ports and two output ports, MAX9134 has three input ports and four output ports, and the MAX9135 has four input ports and three output ports.
All ports are rated up to ±25kV ESD for the ISO Air Discharge Model, ±15kV ESD for the IEC Air Discharge Model, and ±10kV ESD Contact Discharge Model. The MAX9132/MAX9134/MAX9135 allow any input to be connected to any output, or to all outputs to broadcast the video image to all displays. Switch routing is programmable through pins or a LIN-/I2C-compatible serial interface to ease integration into the automotive bus architecture.
The outputs can also be three-stated to support multiple switches in parallel. Providing a scalable solution, the MAX9132/MAX9134/MAX9135 can easily be cascaded to support higher I/O port matrix requirements.
